John's Classifieds Posting Policies:

The following activities are prohibited from John's Classifieds:

  • Posting an item for sale that are:
    • illegal to own, buy or sell in your area of residence
    • in the prohibited items list
    • not legally yours to offer for sale or trade
  • Posting multiple Listings that are too similar to each other
  • Posting a Listing that serves no purpose other than the purpose of sending traffic to another website
  • Posting a Listing that defames anyone, threatens anyone, contains inflammatory comments or advocating hatred towards another person or group of people
  • Posting a listing for anything involving multi-level marketing or other prohibited job/s

Users that do not comply with the John's Classifieds policy will have their ad removed and may be permanently removed and blocked from the site.

Our general rule is that users may not list, buy or sell items or services that are illegal to own, buy or sell in their place of residence, or that are not bought or sold in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations applying to any parties involved in the transactions.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS RELATING TO THE ITEM YOU LIST, BUY OR SELL ON THIS SITE. JOHN'S CLASSIFIEDS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR Listings POSTED ON THIS SITE OR ANY SITE ASSOCIATED WITH OR LINKED FROM THIS SITE.

We specifically prohibit the following items:

  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Baby Walkers
  • Blood, Bodily Fluids and Body Parts
  • Burglary Tools
  • Counterfeit currency, stamps or coins
  • Counterfeit Products
  • Electronic Surveillance Equipment
  • Embargoed Goods
  • Government and Transit Uniforms, IDs and Licenses
  • Illegal Drugs & Drug Paraphernalia
  • Illegal Services
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Fireworks, Destructive Devices and Explosives
  • Identity Documents, Personal Financial Records & Personal Information (in any form, including mailing lists)
  • Items which encourage or facilitate illegal activity
  • Lottery Tickets, Sweepstakes Entries and Slot Machines
  • Child Pornography
  • Pesticides
  • Police Badges and Uniforms
  • Prescription Drugs and Devices
  • Recalled items
  • Satellite products that violate the Radio Communication Act
  • Solicitation of other users except by placing a Listing
  • Stocks and Other Securities
  • Stolen Property
  • Tobacco Products
  • Used, open or unsealed Cosmetics
  • Weapons and related items (such as firearms, firearm parts and magazines, ammunition, BB and pellet guns, tear gas, stun guns, switchblade knives, and martial arts weapons)

The following types of Pet Listings are prohibited on the site:

  • The Animal Pedigree Act makes it a federal offence to sell an animal of a recognized breed as purebred, registered or eligible to be registered if it is not.
  • Any Ad that violates the Animal Pedigree Act

The following types of Job Listings are prohibited on the site:

  • Multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes
  • Business or job opportunities that require upfront or periodic payments
  • Business or job opportunities that pay only commissions, unless the Ad makes it clear that the sole source of compensation would be commission and clearly describes the product or service that would be sold
  • Business or job opportunities that require recruitment of other members, distributors or agents
  • Listings that are not clear regarding what type of work would be required

The following types of Personal or Erotic Service Listings are prohibited on the site:

  • Listings that contain individuals engaging in sexual activities
  • Listings that ask for sex from or offer sex to under age persons
  • Listings that offer sex or sexual activities in exchange for money, products or services
  • Listings that depicts a person(s), regardless of gender, engaged in actual sexual conduct
  • Listings that contain bestiality
  • Listings that contain masturbation
  • Listings that contain sadistic or masochistic abuse
  • Listings posted by Men in the "Women seeking Women" category
  • Listings posted by Men in the "Women seeking Men" category
  • Listings posted by Women in the "Men seeking Men" category
  • Listings posted by Women in the "Men seeking Women" category

The following types of items are generally permitted to be listed if and to the extent that their sale and purchase is legally permitted in your place of residence, and that such sales and purchases occur in compliance with applicable laws and regulations:

  • Electronic Equipment
  • Event Tickets
  • Food Items
  • Non-prescription Medical Devices
  • Real Estate and Rental Properties
  • Used Clothing and Bedding
  • Vehicles, Vehicle Equipment and Devices

Other Posting Policies:

You can post up to 40 different Listings per day on John's Classifieds. Duplicate Listings or Listings that are too similar to an existing Ad that you have posted can be posted in no more than two (2) different categories per site within your local area. Any more than two and your Listings will be removed. If you violate these policies your Listings will be deleted (sometimes without notice). Attempting to post after having your Listings removed may result in a "blocked" message notifying you that you have posted too many Listings. To avoid this, please list whatever you are advertising only once per site within your area. If you want to re-list an item that you are already advertising on the site, delete your existing Ad first.

Posting a listing with a link to another web site for the sole purpose of directing visitors to that web site is not permitted. You may, however, include a link in your post if it is to give the user more information about the item being offered (for example product informaiton, details, pictures, etc.).

You are not permitted to defame anyone or include "hate speech" directed at individuals or groups in your postings. John's Classifieds reserves the right to delete any Listings from the site that are deemed to negatively impact the community. If you encounter any such Listings, please flag it as such or contact us.
